Product Details: For the reopening of Samaritaine, the embroidered accessories brand Macon & Lesquoy has designed a pair of brooches alluding to the origins of the department store's name. Samaritaine was the name of a water pump located on the Pont Neuf, dating back to Henri IV who asked the Flemish engineer, Jean Lintlaër, to design it. It was the first water-lifting machine built in Paris. Before founding Samaritaine, Ernest Cognacq set up a stall in one of the half-moon turrets on the Pont Neuf, near the old pump.
